Turqueta kept its road open — and invented a subtler wall. The car park is free, small, and full between 9 and 10am in July–August (earlier on peak days). When it fills, a barrier closes the access road, and no amount of circling helps until someone leaves.

Why it earns the effort

Many locals rank Turqueta’s water the clearest on the island — a shallow, sand-floored turquoise that photographs like a pool. Two small sand tongues, pines to the waterline, and (in season) one modest kiosk: bring the rest.

The Son Saura beaches sit one headland west for the walkers; Macarella — with its entirely different, car-banned access — one bay east.
