Cala Mitjana — The 15-Minute Walk That Filters the Crowd

Mitjana runs the cheapest access filter on the south coast: no road of its own, no bus stop, no car park drama — just a 15-minute walk from Cala Galdana. That quarter hour removes a remarkable share of the crowd.

Getting in

Park at Cala Galdana (or arrive by its buses), find the signed trail behind the resort, and walk the pine path. Flat-ish, family-doable, sandals-fine. There is also a small unpaved lot off the Galdana road that shortens the walk — it fills early and rescues no one in August.

What you get

Macarella’s geometry — white sand slot, pine cliffs, absurd water — minus the bus line. No services at all: carry water, shade and everything else. The eastern cliffs host Menorca’s best-known cliff jumps; judge depth and your nerve honestly, the rocks grade from bold to foolish.

Mitjaneta and the boats

Little Cala Mitjaneta sits a few minutes further west — tiny, photogenic, swimmable to. The south-coast cruises pass and often pause here; from the water Mitjana and Macarella read as one continuous postcard (4.7/5 from 881 reviews, $93).
